IFS Parts Work

(Internal Family Systems)

IFS is a fast-growing form of coaching/therapy. As an IFS practitioner, I don’t provide therapy, but offer coaching informed by the method.

So really, what is it?

Think of a time you have said something like, “A part of me wants to go see this show, but a part of me would rather sit on the couch and binge Netflix” where you land on polarized sides of a task or issue. IFS believes that those “parts” of you that are in opposition are worth dialoguing with and learning about.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) explores the intricate dynamics within an individual's mind. This innovative and powerful model, developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz, looks at each of these parts as having unique perspectives, emotions, and intentions. We work with the protective parts that protect the hurt parts. Sometimes, we work with the hurt parts to help them feel more ease. Sometimes we help those hurt parts release their burdens.

Some of the benefits of IFS work are emotional resilience, improved relationships, self-compassion, self-awareness, and self-empowerment.

My experience with IFS has helped me spend more time in self-leadership — that unbroken and unbreakable part of me, the self. By being more aware of SELF, I spend more time experiencing creativity, curiosity, calm, connection, confidence, clarity, courage and compassion ~ the 8 C’s of IFS. I’d love to share this work with you

What is TRE?

Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (or TRE) is a simple, yet innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. Created by Dr. David Berceli, PhD, TRE safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calling down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance.

What is IFS?

IFS®  is a transformative tool that sees every human being as a system of protective and wounded inner parts led by a core Self. This tool posits that the mind is naturally multiple and that is a good thing. Just like members of a family, inner parts are forced from their valuable states into extreme roles within us. Self is in everyone. It can’t be damaged. It knows how to heal. IFS coaching allows us to befriend our protectors and access more of our SELF energy.
